Nursing Student WHAT???
Last year just like every other nursing student at UOIT I decided to venture into the Collaborative BScN program with Durham College. Going into nursing I knew that it wasn’t going to be easy. But let me tell you I didn’t think it was going to be like this either. Don’t get me wrong I love it and would never change what I’m doing. This semester at UOIT has been one of the hardest yet one of the most enjoyable semesters I have had. Let me let you in on a little secret...I’m not the kind of kid who really enjoyed going to school. Going to a new school is never easy. I think we can all relate to this. The nursing program at UOIT to me is the best program offered. With all of the fantastic professors and all of the enthusiastic students I believe that the class of 2012 is going to one of the best classes of nurses to graduate from UOIT. With exams starting this week it’s hard to realize that this semester is over. I can’t believe that I have almost completed my first semester of University. When exams are out of the way and passed I will finally be able to say that I have completed semester one at UOIT in the nursing program.
Can I have a Side Dish of Stress Please?
I’m sure that I’m not alone when I say that stress this semester was no stranger. At the beginning of them semester I can remember a lot of late nights with a lot of wet pillows. Being a kid coming from a small elementary school to a little bigger high school to a university that is larger than 4 hallways I was pretty nervous on the first day of classes. With not knowing what to expect I didn’t really know what to do. Once I realized that I wasn’t the only one I felt a lot better. Once I met some new people and made some good friends some of the stress associated with going to a new school somewhat disappeared, but then came a stress that I still haven’t quite figured out, and I’m not sure if this stress will ever go away. Being in such a demanding program I find it hard to balance both my personal life and my school life. I always seem to be going assignments or attempting to stay on top of my readings. I’m sure anyone taking nursing can agree that it is sometimes difficult to balance school and personal life while still trying to manage to get the best marks that they can get.
